Re: God Has Curly Hair
by Velo Steve
Good thoughts, but it's the disco pants that stuck in my mind. There's a book out there called "Children's Letters to God" which I haven't read, but it looks fun. A "Children's Drawings of God" could be a nice idea. Apparently someone has done something like this, but it is a heavy duty world-travelling study and they apparently want $65 for the book (How We See God and Why It Matters: A Multicultural View Through Children's Drawings and Stories). Naturally it doesn't sell much and there are no reviews on Amazon. There's another (In God's House: Children's Drawings) which focus on children with problems. A good idea in its own way, but also not much of a seller. I bet a $15 book that is lighter would really sell. The drawings would include funny and cute ones, but a careful mix of serious, touching, or even sad ones could be good. Maybe some written or spoken comments from the children, but the adult-written text should be minimal. You could find a pretty wide range of religious, ethnic, and economic backgrounds within 30 miles of here. What do you say Amanda, how about becoming an author? p.s. If the bay area isn't multicultural enough for you, think deductible travel :).
