Chloe has scarlet fever. Basically strep throat with a strep rash.
Piper has impetigo. It could be strep or staph, and it started due to irritation breakdown in her nose from the continued snotty nose she's had for about a month. Once the bacteria enters into the wound and gets in the bloodstream, they breakout in little pustules that look a fair amount like chicken pox. Piper has them on her face, her arms and her torso.
So both kids are on antibiotics. Both kids are allergic to amoxicillin, so Chloe's on Zithromax, and Piper we have to watch closely as she takes Keflex - as the families are similar.
Off to the pharmacy, again.
