Urg, just a gripey post...

Last week I did NOT ride in both days because the weather report said it was going to rain, and it did not. Today I DID ride in because the report said it wasn't going to rain until tomorrow. So, as we pulled into SF station it was absolutely pouring. I rode the ~5 miles in a downpour complete with hail, only to have it clear up the minute I reached campus. Go figure. Thank goodness for TimBuk2 bags, they're AWESOME. Although the outer canvas got drenched, the innards were completely dry (rubber lining). So at least I had dry clothes to change in to.

Of course, then I get to campus only to realize that I don't have my ID with me. Now what does that mean, do you ask? Eh, you probably didn't, but I'll tell you anyway. It means that I couldn't work out (oh, poor me, I know), but moreover, it means I couldn't SHOWER... Ew. I also couldn't check out library materials, and I needed something on reserve. Oy.

Classes were good, at least. Additionally, I thought I was going to have to stay on campus for a focus group today, only to find out it was actually next week... so I wasn't going to have to stay late (YAY!). Oooh, and to boot, my class this afternoon got out early.

So I ran... and rode like the dickens. But I couldn't wear my cycling clothes from the AM, because they were drenched. A 5 mile ride with no chamois (even though it was downhill) is no picnic. Add to that that my shoes and helmet are wet (and yes, I'm wearing them). I make it to the SF station in time for the 4:09P, #362 Baby Bullet Train. I was actually going to make it to my home before Phil was back from picking up the kids!!! COOL!

We make it one stop before the train breaks down. We sit for about 10 minutes before they tell us they're broken, and another train is coming, and we're to disembark, and cross over to the other track. Okay, a local express... not bad, but now they're making their stops, PLUS our stops... and they just don't move that fast... At one of the stops down the line they tell us that we can get off, if we'd like, and get on the train behind us, another Baby Bullet train, because it will pass this local express in a couple of stops. So I do, as does half the train. But the Baby Bullet is stuck behind the local express until one stop before the stop at which I'd get off.

**sigh**

I get home at the same time I would have had I not gotten out early. I get some bonus riding in (in my jeans, no chamois, and wet shoes, ouch), and when I get home, I try to pull out my garage door opener, and it's stuck at the bottom of my bag, under my books, my laptop, and my clothes.

**double sigh**

But I got the BIGGEST hugs when I got home, YAY!

Tomorrow has GOT to be better right??? The weather report in SF, as of right now says:
Tomorrow: Partly cloudy early followed by mostly cloudy skies and a few showers later in the day. High 62F. Winds SW at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 30%.
Do I dare ride?

To quote the Berenstein Bears, "yes, I dare".
